HIGHLIGHTS OF MORE THAN 100 YEARS OF COMPANY HISTORY
1906On 1 July 1906 Adolf Schmidt founded Adolf Schmidt Metallwaren- und Holzschraubfabrik and opened up shop with a handful of employees at the company headquarters at Adlerstraße 9 in Wuppertal. The company's first products included all types of metal goods, all types of wood screws, and chains and fittings. |

1938The company moved to the newly build facility at Auf dem Scheidt 5 in Wuppertal Varresbeck in 1938. |

After the death of Adolf Schmidt in 1951 the business originally founded as an individual company was converted to a partnership and operated by his wife Marie and son Kurt and his wife Ms Hildegard. Like many others, the company benefited from the economic wonder of the 1950s and expanded operations to include as many as sixty employees. |

2006In 2006 Adolf Schmidt Metallwaren- und Holzschraubenfabrik GmbH celebrated its 100-year anniversary, making it one of Wuppertal's most successful tradition-rich companies. |
